Applicants are considered for all available department funding when reviewed for admission. No additional application for department funding is required.
Application Fee and Fee Waiver Requests: The Graduate School charges a nonrefundable application fee of $90.00 (USD). Non-Native English Speaker Information Graduate School requirement: English language proficiency (ELP) is required for graduate study at the University of Washington. Therefore, every applicant whose native language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency as outlined in Graduate School Policy 3.2. Program requirement: Non-native speakers must present verification of English Proficiency and present a minimum speaking score from accepted tests. Please NOTE: the department requirements surpass those of the UW Graduate School outlined in Graduate School Policy 5.2. Even if you have a BA or MA from institutions accepted in Graduate School Policy 5.2, the Political Science application requires the minimum score on the Speak section of the TOEFL.
