    GSEE's New Student Welcome 2024

Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 1:30 PM until 3:00 PMPacific Daylight Time UTC -07:00

Welcome incoming graduate students! Join GSEE for a virtual meet & greet and helpful advice for your transition to the UW.

Congratulations on choosing to make the University of Washington your new academic home!

The Office of Graduate Student Equity & Excellence, (GSEE, formerly GO-MAP), is thrilled to welcome our incoming historically underrepresented graduate students to the UW!

It can be incredibly challenging to move to a new city/region/country to attend graduate school. We also recognize how jarring it can be to return to life as an academic after many years in the workforce. Know that GSEE is here for you to help you in fostering community and a sense of belonging as you begin your journey in graduate school!

Join us via ZOOM for a virtual meet & greet for incoming master's, Ph.D., and professional students. We will be hosting a student panel, as well as breakout rooms, to exchange tips and tricks on transitioning to the UW (past topics have included: QTPOC Community, Student Activism/Advocacy, Parenting while in Graduate School, Finding a Roommate, and Free Chat. Join us to see what topics emerge this year!).

We look forward to (virtually) seeing you soon!

By RSVPing to this event, I grant permission to the University of Washington and GSEE to take photographs or videos of me and to make recordings of my voice. These photos and videos may appear without limitation on newsletters, social media, websites, and print marketing materials.

While GSEE events and programming are geared towards graduate students impacted by racism and its intersections*, they are open to all UW graduate students, faculty and staff, and those interested in and committed to supporting and increasing a racially diverse graduate student population.

Registration is no longer available because the registration deadline has passed.
