    GPA course-by-course calc - US

    GPA Calculation Using Individual Grades

This example demonstrates how to do a course-by-course gpa calculation for the most recent 90 quarter credits. (Note: it is also possible (and easier/faster) to calculate the gpa by using term gpa's, but this example is to demonstrate a course-by-course calculation.)

Using the transcript below, each grade was entered into this gpa calculator. The result of the calculation is below.

With this example, the gpa and credentials would be entered as:

    Note:
    • Non-numeric "grades"  (CR, NC, I, X, etc.) do not contribute to a gpa calculation.
    • Once the WIN 2004 grades were added in, the total credits was 88. So MUSEN 303 from Autumn 2003 was added to the gpa calculation since it is the next graded course to appear on the transcript.
    • In this case, the last 90 graded quarter credits spans the entire master's degree and dips into the last year of the bachelor's degree.
    • Course names were entered into the calculator, but this is not required.
