    GRE Requirements
    GRE Requirement: Not Considered. GRE scores are not required and, if submitted, will not be considered during the admissions decision process.
    Additional Instructions
    To create the best application possible to the Information School, refer to the Information School’s vision, mission, and values. This will help you create a compelling application, highlighting your past experiences and future goals and connecting those with the program and UW Information School.

    Recommendation instructions: Request recommendations from people who know you well and who are able to comment on your academic competence, ability to engage in graduate study, and potential for future success in the library and information science professions, or who can comment on your employment experience. We encourage you to submit three recommendations; however, two recommendations from individuals who satisfy these requirements will be sufficient for review.

    Non-Native English Speaker Information
    Graduate School requirement: English language proficiency (ELP) is required for graduate study at the University of Washington. Therefore, every applicant whose native language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency as outlined in Graduate School Policy 3.2.

    International Student Information
    Applicants who will need a visa should reference the International Applicant Information page. If admitted to the program, international students requesting an F1 or J1 visa will be required to provide financial ability documentation to the UW Graduate School.
     
    International students admitted to the online mode are not eligible to receive an F-1 visa I-20 or the J-1 DS-2019 from the University of Washington. 
     
    International applicants have the same deadline and application requirements as all other applicants.
