    Requirements and Prerequisites
    Minimum Admissions requirements:Application Checklist to be submitted to the Graduate School:
    • $90 Application fee
    • Statement of purpose
    • Resume/Vitae
    • Three recommendation letters
    • Three labs of interest (please refer to our faculty page for detailed information about the research areas of each lab)
    • Unofficial copy of previous academic transcripts (in English) of your bachelor’s and/or master’s degrees
    • Research Experience 
    • Diversity Statement (optional)
    • Official English proficiency score for non-native English language speakers (TOFEL/IELTS/Duolingo)
    About application fee waivers:
    Please note that your application to the PCEUT graduate programs is through the UW Graduate School. Therefore, the Department of Pharmaceutics cannot grant application fee waivers.

    Please do not contact individual faculty members about application to our graduate programs, or about the admissions decisions, since such decisions are made collectively by all faculty members.



    Additional Instructions
    The PhD application does not require applicants to submit mailed materials. However, if you believe you need to mail materials to the Department of Pharmaceutics, please email pceut@uw.edu and we will provide you with instructions.                       


    Non-Native English Speaker Information
    Graduate School requirement: English language proficiency (ELP) is required for graduate study at the University of Washington. Therefore, every applicant whose native language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency as outlined in Graduate School Policy 3.2.

    International Student Information
    Applicants who will need a visa should reference the International Applicant Information page. If admitted to the program, international students requesting an F1 or J1 visa will be required to provide financial ability documentation to the UW Graduate School.
