    Requirements and Prerequisites
    The Master of Engineering in Industrial & Systems Engineering is a non-thesis degree designed for engineers, scientists and mathematicians with at least two years of full time work experience in a technical environment.

    This program currently does not offer curriculum to support an F1/J1 visa.

    To be eligible for consideration applicants are expected to have a bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, science or equivalent, with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Applicants must have completed at least one year of calculus and one probability and statistics course (e.g. INDE 315).

    GRE Requirements
    GRE Requirement: Optional/Not Required. Submitting GRE scores is not required. However, if official scores are submitted, they may be considered during the review process.
    More Information: GRE scores are not required for application. If you wish to report your scores, use Institution Code 4854 to submit your scores to the UW.
    Additional Instructions

    The GRE is not required for admission to this program. 

    Tuition exemption is unavailable for the MISE program.

    If you are offered admission, one set of official transcripts from all college and universities attended must be submitted to The Graduate School.



    Non-Native English Speaker Information
    Graduate School requirement: English language proficiency (ELP) is required for graduate study at the University of Washington. Therefore, every applicant whose native language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency as outlined in Graduate School Policy 3.2.

    International Student Information
    Applicants who will need a visa should reference the International Applicant Information page. If admitted to the program, international students requesting an F1 or J1 visa will be required to provide financial ability documentation to the UW Graduate School.

    This is a part-time program. International students are not eligible to study in residence at the University of Washington.
