Contact Information ISE Graduate Advisor Program Website +1 206-616-6719 isemengr@uw.edu Requirements and Prerequisites A minimum 3.0 grade-point-average on a 4-point scale (or equivalent measures of performance if a graduate of an institution with no grading system) for those credits earned at the institution awarding the bachelor’s degree OR at least a 3.0 grade-point-average (on a 4-point scale) for the last 90 graded quarter credits or 60 graded semester credits. For more information, please refer to Policy 3.1 Graduate Admissions. M.S.I.E. applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, or science. GRE Requirements GRE Requirement: Not Considered. GRE scores are not required and, if submitted, will not be considered during the admissions decision process. Additional Instructions The GRE is not required for the Master of Science in Industrial Engineering. All applicants are automatically considered for funding. Non-Native English Speaker Information Graduate School requirement: English language proficiency (ELP) is required for graduate study at the University of Washington. Therefore, every applicant whose native language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency as outlined in Graduate School Policy 3.2. Program requirement: The University of Washington requires documented English language proficiency for students whose native language is not English. Students must get a minimum of 92 or better on the TOEFL exam, 120 on Duolingo, or a 7 on IELTS to be considered. The ISE department's English language requirements are stricter than that of the Graduate School/UW as a whole. Unless students have completed a 4-year bachelor's degree program in the U.S., or their higher education was conducted entirely in English, they will need to take the TOEFL, Duolingo or IELTS exam. A master's degree from the U.S. will not exempt you from this requirement. Students who intend to apply for teaching assistantships must meet additional requirements. Official scores are required for application consideration. International Student Information Applicants who will need a visa should reference the International Applicant Information page. If admitted to the program, international students requesting an F1 or J1 visa will be required to provide financial ability documentation to the UW Graduate School.
