We have one admission cycle each year which opens in mid-May and closes in early June. Decisions are sent before July 1st for an Autumn admission to the program. Generally students are admitted at the end of their junior year.

Requirements and Prerequisites

You must be a University of Washington undergraduate student in C SCI or CMP E who has completed all CSE 300 level courses at University of Washington to apply to this program.

Applicants who do not meet these requirements and chose to apply will be automatically denied and will not receive a refund for the application fee.

Non-Native English Speaker Information
Graduate School requirement: English language proficiency (ELP) is required for graduate study at the University of Washington. Therefore, every applicant whose native language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency as outlined in Graduate School Policy 3.2.

  International Student Information
Applicants who will need a visa should reference the International Applicant Information page. If admitted to the program, international students requesting an F1 or J1 visa will be required to provide financial ability documentation to the UW Graduate School.

International students must be currently enrolled in the University of Washington - Seattle Computer Science or Computer Engineering undergraduate program to be eligible to apply. If you have not taken a course at UW, you should not apply for this program. Applicants outside this category who apply will be automatically denied and will lose their non-refundable application fee.
