    The Leadership for Learning (Ed.D.) Program admits a new cohort every three years. Applications for the current admissions cycle are due February 1, 2027, for the cohort beginning July 2027. The following opportunity to apply will be in early 2030 for the cohort beginning in July of that year.

    Requirements and Prerequisites
    Please review specific application requirements and instructions here.

    Prerequisite: Master’s degree from an accredited institution. Your degree can be in progress when applying but must be completed before program starts.

    Transcripts

    If you have not uploaded transcripts in the online application, please mail transcripts from all schools attended in the last five years and all schools in which you have earned a degree and/or certificate. Unofficial copies are acceptable. Emailed documents should be sent to l4l@uw.edu.

    Please list all people who will be submitting letters. 3 recommendation letters are required.

    This applicant has applied for admission to the Leadership for Learning (L4L) Program at the University of Washington's College of Education, and has requested that you supply a letter of recommendation on their behalf.

    Please submit a written letter of recommendation that addresses your view of this applicant's potential for success in the L4L program. Include a description of the applicant's leadership strengths and challenges. Also describe the capacity in which you know the applicant.

    GRE Requirements
    GRE Requirement: Not Considered. GRE scores are not required and, if submitted, will not be considered during the admissions decision process.

    Non-Native English Speaker Information
    Graduate School requirement: English language proficiency (ELP) is required for graduate study at the University of Washington. Therefore, every applicant whose native language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency as outlined in Graduate School Policy 3.2.

    International Student Information
    Applicants who will need a visa should reference the International Applicant Information page. If admitted to the program, international students requesting an F1 or J1 visa will be required to provide financial ability documentation to the UW Graduate School.
