    Requirements and Prerequisites
    Bachelor's Degree or higher, 3.0 GPA, Resume, Statement of Purpose, 2 letters of recommendation, transcripts from all institutions attended in the last 5 years and also where a degree was earned. More information about requirements can be found here.
     
    Curriculum and Instruction programs do not lead to certification. For certification options, please see the Teacher Education page.
    GRE Requirements
    GRE Requirement: Not Considered. GRE scores are not required and, if submitted, will not be considered during the admissions decision process.
    Additional Instructions
    To apply to the Curriculum and Instruction program, you will choose one content specialization interest area. Interests include Language, Literacy and Culture, Instructional Leadership (MIL), Culturally Sustaining Education, or Science.

    Prior to submitting your application, verify that you have selected the correct program and quarter and year that you intend to enroll in the program.

    Unofficial transcripts that are uploaded must be legible and complete and must include your name with your degree posted (if completed).  If it is blurry or too small, you must re-upload this.  Please check all uploaded documents to ensure they are uploaded full size and clearly.

    Non-Native English Speaker Information
    Graduate School requirement: English language proficiency (ELP) is required for graduate study at the University of Washington. Therefore, every applicant whose native language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency as outlined in Graduate School Policy 3.2.

    International Student Information
    Applicants who will need a visa should reference the International Applicant Information page. If admitted to the program, international students requesting an F1 or J1 visa will be required to provide financial ability documentation to the UW Graduate School.
