Summer Quarter: MSIS Direct, 4 quarters (12 months). Choose the MSIS Direct Program if you are knowledgeable/experienced in the three areas of proficiency, database systems, data networks, and object-oriented development environments. Spring Quarter, Accelerate Program. This adds an additional quarter to the program, totaling 5 quarters (15 months) when combined with the MSIS Direct program. This is not a stand-alone program. Choose the Accelerate MSIS Program if you have limited proficiency in database systems, data networks, and object-oriented development environments. The Spring quarter exists to bring people up to speed who have not been exposed to these subject areas—this is not meant as a refresher course. Applications can be accepted while enrolled as an undergraduate, but all requirements must be met before the start of the program. Minimum of 3.0 GPA in a recognized degree (bachelors or masters) or as a cumulative GPA. If your transcripts do not use a 4.0 scale, please calculate your GPA into that scale. GRE Requirements GRE Requirement: Optional/Not Required. Submitting GRE scores is not required. However, if official scores are submitted, they may be considered during the review process. More Information: To make the matching of test scores more efficient and accurate, we ask that you upload any PDF copies of scores from your GRE or GMAT score report. Non-Native English Speaker Information Graduate School requirement: English language proficiency (ELP) is required for graduate study at the University of Washington. Therefore, every applicant whose native language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency as outlined in Graduate School Policy 3.2. The MSIS program requires 92 TOEFL, 125 Duolingo, or IELTS 7.0 if using test scores to meet ELP. International Student Information Applicants who will need a visa should reference the International Applicant Information page. If admitted to the program, international students requesting an F1 or J1 visa will be required to provide financial ability documentation to the UW Graduate School.
