    Additional Instructions
There are three application rounds; we encourage you to apply early.
    • The Round 1 deadline is open to all applicants.
    • The Round 2 deadline is the final deadline for international applicants planning to apply for a new student visa.
    • The Round 3 deadline is open to domestic applicants and international candidates who already possess a valid study-eligible visa, including transferring an I-20 from another school.
Allow at least 5 US business days before contacting us to verify materials. Your application will not be considered complete and will not be reviewed until all application materials have been received. Answers to many questions can be found on our website—please review it carefully before submitting your application. If you need additional clarification, please email the program (msentre@uw.edu).

    Short Video Submission
All applicants must submit a short video. The video submission allows us to get to know you better, assess your communication skills, and ability to relay your entrepreneurial motivation/journey. We are interested in your unique thoughts and experiences and encourage you to get creative.

You can upload your video in the Digital Portfolio section of the application.

    Recommendations
Two recommendation letters are required. Recommendations should speak to your entrepreneurial ability and can come from a supervisor at work, a colleague, a co-founder, a mentor, or a professor. We encourage you to prioritize recommenders who know you well and can comment on your motivation, collaboration skills, leadership, and professionalism.

Designate your recommenders in your online application profile. Recommenders will immediately receive an email directing them to an online form where they will upload a letter of recommendation. Please do not enter recommender information until you are ready for them to be contacted.

Recommendations must be received before applications are considered complete and ready for review. It is strongly encouraged that you follow up directly with your recommender to ensure letters are uploaded before the deadline.

Read Statement: Starting a Company in the USA

Starting a company in the USA while on a visa is not a guarantee. As a non-citizen there are a series of steps required to start a business in the United States. This is not a process you should navigate alone, and advanced planning is crucial. Please visit our International Applicants page for more information.
