An undergraduate major in economics is not required provided you have sufficient coursework to meet application requirements. GRE Requirements GRE Requirement: Required. Official GRE scores are required for all applicants in order to be considered for admission. The UW institution code for the GRE is 4854. Non-Native English Speaker Information Graduate School requirement: English language proficiency (ELP) is required for graduate study at the University of Washington. Therefore, every applicant whose native language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency as outlined in Graduate School Policy 3.2. Program requirement: Applicants whose native language is not English must provide documentation demonstrating they have satisfied the English Language Proficiency Requirement at the time they submit their application.
