    Requirements and Prerequisites
    Bachelors degree in Astronomy, Physics or related field and meet grad school minimum admissions requirements. See also Astronomy Department website.
    GRE Requirements
    GRE Requirement: Optional/Not Required. Submitting GRE scores is not required. However, if official scores are submitted, they may be considered during the review process.
    More Information: GRE scores are not required; you may send them if you wish.
     
    Additional Instructions
    We are admitting  students in four specific research areas for Autumn 2025: High-Redshift Galaxies, Near-Field Cosmology, Solar System minor planets, and Astronomical Instrumentation.  You will be allowed to choose no more than two of these areas in your application.  See Astronomy Department website for more information.

    Non-Native English Speaker Information
    Graduate School requirement: English language proficiency (ELP) is required for graduate study at the University of Washington. Therefore, every applicant whose native language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency as outlined in Graduate School Policy 3.2.
