    Requirements and Prerequisites
Applicants are required to have at least a BA/BS degree. It is recommended that applicants complete an undergraduate program appropriate for graduate work in anthropology, but an undergraduate degree in anthropology is not required. Applicants are not required to submit GRE's.

Applicants should consider looking through the faculty page to determine whose research most aligns with your fields of interest. Faculty members serve as graduate student advisors so, prospective applicants should consider contacting faculty directly to see if they are accepting new graduate students.

The full UW Archaeology faculty review all applications. We carefully review your Statement of Purpose, Personal Statement, grade history, letters of recommendation, and writing samples. Please read through the PhD in Anthropology: Archaeology page and Anthropology’s Graduate Admissions Frequently Asked Questions before completing an application to the program.

    Self-Reported Test Scores
Applicants are not required to submit GRE's.
