    Priority Deadline: December 1. We strongly encourage applicants to submit their applications by this deadline for priority review.

    Final Deadline: January 13. Applicants who apply by the final deadline will still have their files formally reviewed by the admissions committee for full consideration, but not necessarily on a priority basis.

    Requirements and Prerequisites
    Familiarity with differential equations, linear algebra, and scientific computing or numerical analysis is expected.

    All application materials, including letters of recommendation and application fee, are due by the posted deadline. You may need to remind your letter writers of the deadline. No hard-copy application materials should be mailed to the department..

    Additional Instructions
    Applicants who are considering both the PhD and the MS program should apply to the PhD program. If not admitted to the PhD program, applicants are automatically considered for the MS programs.     Non-Native English Speaker Information
    Graduate School requirement: English language proficiency (ELP) is required for graduate study at the University of Washington. Therefore, every applicant whose native language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency as outlined in Graduate School Policy 3.2.

    International Student Information
    Applicants who will need a visa should reference the International Applicant Information page. If admitted to the program, international students requesting an F1 or J1 visa will be required to provide financial ability documentation to the UW Graduate School.
