Test Scores:
If you are applying for either the concurrent MLA/MArch or MLA/MUP degree program, you must complete separate applications for both programs. You may use the same letters of recommendation for both programs, however, we recommend that you inform those writing letters for you that you are applying to both degrees so their letter can address both programs.Non-Native English Speaker Information Graduate School requirement: English language proficiency (ELP) is required for graduate study at the University of Washington. Therefore, every applicant whose native language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency as outlined in Graduate School Policy 3.2. Program requirement: Applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency for admission. Please note applicants to this program must meet both the admission requirement at the "recommended score/ELP satisfied" level AND the TA eligibility requirements as of the application deadline. This program accepts the TOEFL and IELTS test scores. Duolingo English Test is not accepted. Applicants should also self-report their test scores in the application. If admitted to the program, international students requesting an F-1 or J-1 visa will be required to provide financial ability documentation to the UW Graduate School.
